River Oak Center is a groundbreaking institution that is committed to helping teenagers recover from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our year-round program combines academic excellence with a supportive, sober environment, providing a safe space for students to heal, learn, and flourish.
Comprehensive Academic Curriculum
Our experienced educators deliver a comprehensive academic curriculum designed to meet the specific needs of students in recovery. In partnership with the Duval Virtual Instructional Academy (DVIA), we offer on-site certified teachers and educational mentoring, ensuring that students receive personalized attention and support to reach their academic goals.
Integrated Recovery Support
At River Oak Center, we recognize that recovery is a holistic process. Our licensed counselors offer individual, group, and family counseling sessions, empowering students to develop coping strategies and establish a strong foundation for long-term sobriety. In addition, we hold weekly student-led self-help meetings and conduct random drug testing to further promote a culture of accountability and peer support.
Enriching Extracurricular Activities
We believe in nurturing the whole person, which is why we offer a range of extracurricular activities, including art, music, and field trips. These enrichment opportunities promote personal growth, self-expression, and the development of healthy coping mechanisms, complementing the academic and therapeutic components of our program.
Nutritious Meals and After-school Support
To ensure our students have the nourishment and support they need to thrive, we provide a hot, nutritious breakfast and lunch daily. Our after-school extended-day program offers additional academic support and supervised recreational activities, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.
